BRIEF PROFILE OF STELLA DAMASUS

Stella Damasus is considered to be one of the most popular actresses in the Nigeria’s Movie Industry, popularly called ‘NOLLYWOOD’. She is a Theatre Arts graduate of the University of Lagos and has shown the distinction arising from her training both on the Big screen and on Stage.

Stella is an indigene of Asaba, Delta State, but she grew up in Benin City where she completed most of her primary education. She started her University education with a stint in Theatre Arts at the University of Benin. She later moved on to the University of Lagos where she obtained a HND in Business & Industrial Law. Her thirst for education took her to Ghana where she studied languages for a year, before returning to Nigeria where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in theatre Arts with honours from the University of Lagos.

Stella is a woman with many talents; an actress, dancer, singer, business woman and a devoted Christian. Her involvement in the movie industry is almost a decade and a half, having starred in quite a few movies including: Real love, Market Sellers, Never Say Goodbye, Submission, Fugitive, Face of a liar, Queen of the rain Forest, Romantic Attraction, Engagement Night, Intruder, Breaking Point, To live Again, Games Women Play, More than Sisters, Four Sisters, Halimat (her first attempt in Yoruba film), Widow (her most controversial film) and a host of others.

She has also been involved in several stage plays some of which include; Obaseki, Asagidi, Oliver Twist, Oba Oronranmuwon, What the steward saw, ‘Private Lies’ and “what women want” by Wole Oguntokun.

She recently set up her production company SDA Productions Ltd – a company set up to produce premium content for television and the big screen; showcasing Nigerian creativity, ingenuity and talent across Africa and beyond. The company is currently developing its first set of Television Programs, movies and music content for Nigerian and International audiences.

A highly celebrated artiste, some of Stella’s credits include:
